1956 DeSoto Firedome -The Forward Look DeSoto

Pinky D (a.k.a. Pinky DeSoto) is a 1956 DeSoto Firedome Sedan located in Washington State. This car was purchased from the estate of my late cousin, Don Puvogel. Don was an avid car collector, at one time owning over 70 vehicles. I had not thought of purchasing any of the cars from the estate, until my wife said "I like that pink car" . "The pink DeSoto, or the pink Plymouth, I asked?" She said "The DeSoto", and long story short, we purchased it.

May 21, 2011, Pinky Goes Home!

The original keychain from the dealership where Pinky was "delivered" has the dealership name and the address on it. The dealership was Halvorsen Plymouth/DeSoto at 4th and Naval Street, Bremerton, Washington. Pinly and I were in Bremerton, so we drove by to see if anything was there at the address. The building is now a Washington State Liquor Store. Here is the keychain, and Pinky in front of the building!

"Rat Rod Rockers!"

Pinky is featured vehicle in D.A. Sebasstians movie "Rat Rod Rockers!". This is the first movie to have a 1956 DeSoto in it since Orson Welles 1958 "A Touch of Evil". Below are some stills from the movie, along with some vintage DeSoto commercials from YouTube. "Rat Rod Rockers" is a tribute to 1960's era Hot Rod movies. The movie will have it's Seattle Premiere March 26th, 2011 at The King Cat Theater. Rat Rod Rockers! is set in the same town as "Hot Rod Girls Save the World", which is now available on DVD, (see below). Here are a few scenes from Rat Rod Rockers!-
